the nextPage® 2 Document Collaboration experience

NextPage combines the ad-hoc processes you already use to share and collaborate on documents with a powerful digital thread of accuracy and control and a complete 360-degree view of your document activities. The result is an elegant, straightforward approach to tracking and managing the complete lifecycle of all your important documents that eliminates document chaos without forcing people to change their work habits.

Create a 360-Degree View of Your Documents

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration starts with a unique new user interface, called the NextPage Activity Center™, that provides a complete 360-degree view of all your document activities. The moment you drag a NextPage-tracked document into a project in the Activity Center window, you see a wealth of real-time status information, including who has opened versions of the document, who is making edits, how many new versions your co-workers are creating and even where different versions are stored. The Activity Center also provides you with fast, convenient access to all your recent files and gives you an organized, project-focused view of all your shared documents.

This uniquely simple way of viewing and interacting with your documents allows you to work more effectively with the other people on your team, stay in control of the collaboration process and manage the lifecycles of your documents with complete confidence.

see the whole picture

The Document Collaboration Version Map brings all of the pieces together—and presents you with a complete, easy-to-understand visual map of how your document is progressing through the editing and approval process. With this unique reporting tool, you can see who has created new versions, whether those versions have been integrated into the master document and how different versions relate to each other and the final document you’re working to create. You can also click and drag document icons in the Version Map to open different versions, compare them and incorporate changes quickly.

take charge and maintain control

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration makes it easy to take charge of your documents—and stay in complete control no matter how many people you send files to or how many edited versions find their way back to your in-box.

compare Documents Your Way

With NextPage 2 Document Collaboration, you never have to worry about whether you’re editing a document the “right” way. Document Collaboration is flexible enough to track and record changes to a document, whether you choose to use Microsoft’s document merge capabilities or simply cut and paste changes from one document to another. This flexibility gives you complete freedom to make changes your way—and stay completely confident that all your changes will be registered by the global NextPage service. Learn more about Compare.

stay informed and up-to-date

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration finally takes the guesswork out of sharing and collaborating on documents through automatic notifications that keep you completely informed and up-to-date. With notifications, you always know who is working on a document, where different versions of the document are stored, which versions people are making changes to and whether or not you have access to the most recent version.

work smart and save time

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration refines and streamlines the ad-hoc processes you already use to share and collaborate on documents. When you e-mail a document out to be reviewed, edited and approved, Document Collaboration adds a Document Signature™ that contains status information about the document. This gives everyone on your team instant access to critical information—including whether or not they are working on the most recent version.

Stick with what works

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration is remarkably friendly and easy to live with because it works within the context of the operating systems and office productivity applications you use every day. You access all of the Document Collaboration sharing, tracking and reporting capabilities from the Activity Center or through integrated drop-down menus in Microsoft Office, your e-mail application and Windows Explorer.

Share with anyone

With the NextPage Document Collaboration service, you never have to worry about whether or not the people you’re working with have the service running on their machines. NextPage gives you complete freedom to share documents with anyone you choose—regardless of whether or not they’re Document Collaboration subscribers.

No central servers, no IT support

NextPage 2 Document Collaboration is a hosted service that is remarkably easy to install and use—with virtually no support or formal assistance from your organization’s IT department. This makes NextPage 2 Document Collaboration a fast, practical solution for teams and departments that need better tools for sharing and collaborating on documents—without the costs, overhead and administration requirements of centralized systems.
