Lehi, Utah – Sept. 16, 2002 – NextPage Inc., the leader in Content Networking, announced today that Oceana Publications Inc. will standardize its publishing process on NextPage Triad. With this end-to-end solution, Oceana will enhance the delivery of accurate, online information to its customers.
"NextPage is the only company to provide a complete solution that allows us to manage content from authorship to access,” said David Cohen, president of Oceana Publications. “In our specialized market of international law, our customers rely on easy access to accurate and up-to-date information. NextPage give us the end-to-end solution we need to route updates through their approval cycles and get those updates on the Web faster than any other combination of solutions in the market."
Oceana is a publisher of essential international legal information specifically designed for law librarians, practicing attorneys, business executives, academicians, and researchers worldwide.
NextPage Triad is built on NextPage’s Content Network. A NextPage Content Network allows employees, partners and customers to access distributed content repositories simultaneously, as if that content were in one location. With a Content Network, users connect distributed content servers together and then securely search, navigate and categorize that content within a single, unified experience.
"Oceana’s needs are similar to many other publishers and enterprises – they need to manage content from its creation to its use," said Bill Wesemann, chief executive officer of NextPage. "NextPage has the only end-to-end solution that delivers content management and publishing in one offering."
The solution contains three NextPage applications, new NextPage Contenta™, NextPage NXT™ 3 and NextPage Solo™. NextPage Contenta allows Oceana to easily author, manage and assemble mission-critical information, enhancing the content creation process, improving information accuracy, quality and consistency, and reducing editing and maintenance costs. NextPage Contenta is built on proven content management technology from XyEnterprise.
With NXT 3, Oceana is able to aggregate and provide access to Contenta content along with other information in a virtual repository, enabling users to find information with greater accuracy and speed. NextPage Solo gives Oceana the option to provide content access to users who are physically disconnected from the company network.
With NextPage Triad, Oceana is able to use its existing editing tools, including Microsoft Word, to author and edit content. The workflow capabilities of the solution allow Oceana to automate its rigorous and structured workflow process. The solution delivers notification of updated components and reports on user, content and document progress, and tracks due dates.
In addition, the solution stores and manages completed documents in a dynamic database of reusable information objects – such as documents, paragraphs or sentences. These objects can be combined with new content or other objects to create new documents. The product tracks the placement of these objects, so when a change is made to the object, that change is reflected in every document that uses that object.
With the solution, Oceana can publish content from NextPage Contenta and other formats, such as Microsoft Office, PDF, XML and HTML. The solution is scalable to tens of thousands of simultaneous users.
